Dorothy’s Homecoming, Winged Monkey Raffle, & 70th Anniversary Balloon

August 23, 2009. This was a promotional event for the 28th Chesterton Wizard of Oz Festival and the 70th Anniversary of the film. The day started with Dorothy’s Homecoming, where the costume characters visited downtown Chesterton in the afternoon. Later in the evening, they moved to Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve, where the 70th Anniversary Hot Air Balloon made a special appearance. After a photo opportunity, the balloon took to the skies to drop the Winged Monkeys for our raffle….
